OUR STUDIO
Mat Pilates
The Pilates Method is a mind-body centring technique that emphasises the importance of beginning movement from a central CORE of stability.
This also means connecting our movements with our breath and bringing awareness to our whole body.
The overall aims of the Pilates are to develop the deep, postural CORE muscles that support the spine as well as improve daily movement patterns.
Small equipments, such as bands and weights, are also used to assist, add resistance and challenge the body further.
Reformer Pilates
The Reformer apparatus uses springs, ropes and straps connected to a moving carriage. The spring tension provides variable resistance to work against or support to facilitate movements that otherwise wouldn’t be possible – giving the opportunity to strengthen, lengthen and tone the body and mobilising joints through their full range of movement.
The exercise sequences are performed with a focus on Alignment, Breathing and Control. The low impact nature of a class can facilitate rehabilitation, as well as providing overall conditioning, or compliment your current gym training.
